About the Foundation
The mission of the Foundation is to promote and support the educational, leadership, and personal development of the collegiate members of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Through this commitment, the Foundation seeks to develop better men and, through them, foster a stronger and more prosperous agricultural community that meets the evolving needs of the world.
Foundation Incorporation
The Foundation is incorporated as a nonprofit corporation pursuant to the laws of the State of Illinois. It is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or the corresponding provision of any future federal tax law.
General Purpose
The primary purpose of the Foundation is to promote and support the educational, leadership, and personal development of collegiate members of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity located at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois, to make better men and to advance the cause of agriculture.
This corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
Specific Objectives
The specific purposes for which this Foundation is organized include, but not be limited to, the following:
• To award scholarships and financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate members of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity;
• To sponsor, support, and finance leadership development activities including, but not limited to, conferences, seminars, workshops, and retreats;
• To fund initiatives that further academic achievement and professional advancement consistent with the principles of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity;
• To facilitate the creation, distribution, and accessibility of educational resources and materials relating to agriculture and allied disciplines;
• To establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with the National Educational Foundation of Alpha Gamma Rho, the Southern Illinois University Educational Foundation, and other related educational 501(c)(3) entities and organizations.
