Alpha Gamma Rho at Southern Illinois University of Carbondale raised money to remodel the back yard of the children’s home at 5 Star Industries. 5 Star Industries is a non-profit organization that has 7 CILA homes for adults, 1 children’s home, and a day program workshop for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Due to Covid-19, the children do not get to go out and play so we figured we would bring the fun to them. Our goal is to build a wheelchair accessible swing for the kids. Being in a wheelchair has many limitations but relaxing on a swing will not be one of them! Thanks to everyones donations we raised $2,640.00 surpassing our goal of $2,500.00.
