On November 12, AGR active brothers Zach Kampwerth (#1009) and Adam Loker (#1011) joined Beta Alpha alumni Don Guinipp and Dean Campbell in Springfield at the Illinois Department of Agriculture. The event held was a public hearing for the proposed Wheat Checkoff Program in Illinois. Dean is currently the Secretary of the Illinois Wheat Association and Don is the Chairman of NREC (Illinois Nutrient Research and Education Council). The hearing was for the purpose of installing a Wheat Checkoff program in Illinois, which would allocate 1.5 cents from every bushel of wheat sold in Illinois to research and promotion of the wheat crop in Illinois. Don, Dean, Zach, and Adam all spoke in favor of establishing this program.
